Preparation to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation is a two-year process that includes Catechesis, service and retreat experiences. Following guidelines from the Diocese of Paterson, our program is suited for students in grades 9 and 10 who are actively involved in piloting their own faith journey. Students atrtend monthly classes on Sunday evenings from 7-9pm, perform Christian service in the community, and attend two retreats organized by the parish, one in each year of the program. Our materials are from Loyola Press: Called to Be Catholic is used in year one, and Confirmed in the Spirit is used in year two.

***Check Pequannock Food Pantry on Facebook for hours of operation. Donations can be left in the cabinets located in Friendship Hall at First Reformed Church.*** This socially-distanced service project allows Confirmation Candidates to earn service hours and support those less fortunate in our local community. Students can collect the various items on the list from the Pequannock Food Pantry throughout the month of February, and bring the ALL the items to the pantry in March. Students will earn 5 hours for this project. A photo of the donated items plus a parent's signature on the service log will be needed to get credit for the 5 hours. We look to the Greatest Commandment to see that the Lord wants us to love Him and love our neighbor: Jesus replied, “The first is this: ‘Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”– Mark 12:29-31
