Adult Ministry & Spirituality
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Adoration is monthly on the first Saturday after the 8am Mass until Noon.  Plan to spend some time before the Blessed Sacrament.

Men of Courage
The Men of Courage takes its name from the movie, “Courageous”.  This powerful film challenges men to live lives of meaning and purpose as disciples of Jesus.  We meet to encourage each other to be better men, husbands, fathers and brothers in Christ.  We study the Scriptures but the goal is to find practical application of biblical principles in our daily lives.  Meetings are held Sunday mornings at 9am.

Men of God
Join this group of men for prayer, study, discussion, and good friendship. Meetings are held the second Saturday each month beginning with mass at 8am followed by “Coffee and…” in the Holy Family Room.

Prayer Net
Members pray for those in need as requested.  Information on prayers needed is emailed to all members.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process by which those who wish to join the Catholic faith community are welcomed.  Team members join candidates for discussions, prayer, and faith sharing while exploring the beliefs of Catholicism.

Parishioners meet weekly, Fridays at 7:00pm in the Chapel.  Come, and pray the Rosary!

Scripture Study
For community members who wish to study the Word of God and grow in their understanding of Christian Life.  Sessions are held in the Holy Family Room on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm. See the bulletin for specific meeting dates.

Servants of the Holy Cross
For over 45 years, this group has helped individuals and Families enrich their lives through a relationship with Jesus Christ.   Gatherings are held in the Chapel on Friday evenings at 7:30pm.

Women of Faith
Women of our community meet to renew their faith and deepen their relationship with God through prayer and group discussion.  The Women of Faith also sponsor retreats for women during the year.  The meeting schedule is published in the bulletin.

Fellowship & Service Ministry
Members offer ongoing support and care to those who have lost a loved one.

Collection Counters
This faithful group assists with the weekend collection.

Food Network
From time to time members of our parish family experience stressful times and the preparation of a meal can be helpful.  Parishioners sign up to prepare meals and may be called upon once a month.

Funeral Assistants
Support the deceased family while in the church and assist the Celebrant with the funeral service.

Garden Club
Green thumbs can enjoy the serenity of gardening while helping to keep our church a place of spiritual and physical beauty.

Health Ministry
Health knowledgeable parishioners provide wellness and healing through the following roles: Health education and Consultation,  Medical resource & referral assistance, CPR, Blood pressure screenings, AED & Friends & Family First Aid Education.  Members do not do hands-on nursing.

Mailing Committee
Members support the staff by providing assistance with mailings throughout the year.  

Maintains and performs basic repairs to all facilities and buildings on parish grounds.  Let us know if you have a particular skill or talent that would be helpful to our maintenance needs.  You would be contacted on an as needed basis.

Office Support
Volunteers provide clerical assistance in the office as needed.     

Parish Pioneers
Parish seniors meet monthly, on the first Friday (Feb - May & Sept. - Dec.) for  mass and lunch.  All those 55 and older are welcome to attend.

Parish Welcome
Organize and host events to welcome newly registered individuals and families into our parish.  

Wedding Assistants
Volunteers assist the Priest and the bridal party at the rehearsal and on the day of the wedding.  The wedding assistants are available to greet the bridal party and their guests, help set up for the wedding, and answer any questions that may arise.

Coffee and...
This ministry sets up and serves “Coffee and...” after all Sunday Masses and at various special events throughout the year.

As ambassadors of the church, OLGC Greeters welcome and greet all who enter church during weekend masses or at special events.

Parking Lot Ministers
Assist parishioners during high volume celebrations to assure efficient use of the parking lot and the safety of those attending.

Liturgy & Worship
Altar Servers
Open to both boys and girls who have received 1st Communion, this ministry offers the children of our parish a chance to actively participate in the Mass, and bring a valued service to our community.

Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers help to reverently share the sacred Body and Blood of Christ to the community during Mass.
Lectors are called upon to be readers of Scripture, proclaiming the word of God clearly and with devotion.

Liturgical Environment  (decorating)
Members work to maintain the seasonal decorations of the church in accordance with liturgical norms.

Music Ministry
Music ministers elevate our prayers with instrument and voice, stirring our hearts with music & song to praise God.  
Includes the Celebration Choir, Contemporary Group, Teen Singers, Kidz4Christ Choir and Cantors.  Instrumentalists are also needed on occasion.

Responsible for the care of all sacred vessels and vestments.

Ushers attend to our prayerful environment and gather our personal offerings during the mass, assist parishioners as needed and distribute bulletins at the end of mass.

Social Justice and Outreach
Alcoholics Anonymous
Meetings are held weekly in the Holy Family Room Mondays and Thursday at 2:30pm.  The Monday meeting is open to all who have a problem with alcohol or any other addiction as well as to those who have loved ones affected.  Thursday meetings are closed and only those acknowledging that they need help attend.  This meeting is called a “Promises” meeting and is about the gifts of working the “12 steps”.  Both meetings include voluntary sharing of one’s experiences.  

Eucharistic Ministers
Homebound - Reverently share the sacred body and blood of Christ to those in our community who are unable to join us at Mass.

Hospital - Reverently share the sacred body and blood of Christ to those in Chilton Hospital.  OLGC is responsible for bringing communion on Tuesday mornings and/or afternoons.

Food Pantry
OLGC supports our local food pantry as well as the pantry at Eva’s Kitchen in Paterson.  Parishioners are encouraged to bring donations to the church each weekend.  Donations are then distributed by members to the pantries as needed.

Grains of Hope
OLGC has joined with other church and civic organizations in this annual effort to raise funds used to purchase ingredients for healthy meals that are then packaged and sent to areas in need.  The annual food packing event requires hundreds of volunteers and is a wonderful sign of our community coming together to fight hunger.    

Mission of Hope
Members raise awareness and money for the OLGC Medical Clinic and other projects in the Dominican Republic.
Meetings are held as needed.

Right to Life
Join with others to combat those things which threaten the right to life including abortion and assisted suicide.

Thanksgiving Food Drive
Each year OLGC receives requests for over 100 baskets of Thanksgiving food.  Our parishioners give generously in the weeks preceding the holiday and we have always been able to meet the demand.  Volunteers in this program gather the week before Thanksgiving to sort the donations and prepare the various baskets required.  Many hands are needed!! This is a one day commitment each year.  

Young Adult Ministry (Encounter)
21 - 35 year olds are invited to come together to explore our faith and build a sense of community and fellowship.  
Meetings will be held Thursdays at 7:30pm in the Holy Family Room.  

Youth Ministry & Education
Pre K Story Time
Members provide a nurturing, faith based program during the 10am mass for 3-5 year old parishioners.

Religious Education (Pre K - 5th grade)
Come teach religious education to elementary aged children and help them build a  community in our parish family.

Religious Education, Jr. High (6th - 8th grade)
Help with the faith formation of our parish middle school youth.  Teachers are needed     for classes that will be held on Wednesdays.  Training available.

Confirmation Preparation (9th & 10th grade)
Assist in preparing young people for the Sacrament of Confirmation.  This is a two year  program that meets monthly  on Sunday evenings from 6-7:30pm.  

Vacation Bible School
Children of the parish are invited to spend a week each summer participating in games and activities designed to enhance their understanding of Jesus and our faith.  Generally held in August, official dates are announced in early spring. VBS is open to those in K - 5th grade.  Adult volunteers are always needed to help run the program.

Antioch Retreat
Adult volunteers mentor witness talks and prayer services that are created by teen leaders for this weekend retreat.  The week end is usually held in March.  Preparation begins in January.  This program is a 3 month commitment, meeting once each week.  Leaders are trained.  

Journey Retreat
This is a great opportunity for adult volunteers to mentor our Confirmation candidates and youth ministry leaders. The retreat is usually held on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend.  The team meets weekly in early fall for 6 weeks prior to the retreat event.

Jr. High Youth Ministry
This group meets as a leadership planning team to create social and spiritual activities for young teens grades 6-8.

Kids Club
Members create social and service oriented activities for students in grades K-2 and 3-5. Activities are held once a month.  Parent volunteers are asked to be a part of the leadership planning team to organize and plan special events.

OLGC’s Youth Ministry group for high school age teens of the parish. Members meet regularly for service projects and fellowship.

Service Coordination
This ministry involves supporting the youth of our parish in their service requirements. Chaperones, drivers and administrative support of various local service projects are often required.  Service projects are held at throughout the year.
